TRINATIONAL VIRTUAL FIRES CONGRESS ONLINE FOR THE FIRST TIME
VISITORS CELEBRATE 15 YEARS OF DIGITAL PIONEERING IN EMERGENCY RESPONSE
At the >> Virtual Fires Congress (VFC) on July 16. and 17. 2020 , an expert audience from the fire and rescue services as well as civil defense and disaster control was able to exchange information about the latest digital developments for the 15th time.
The main topic of this year’s program: “Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Firefighting and Civil Protection – how self-learning systems can and could support rescue forces” attracted numerous participants to the world wide web. Because of the Corona pandemic, the symposium was held completely virtually for the first time.
Speakers and participants were able to register with an avatar on the Virtual Reality Plattform “CyberCinity” move around the 3D– modeled exposition, visit various trade exhibitors and the VFC Auditorium.
“I am delighted that once again guests from all over the world have accepted our invitation. The first congress in 2006, with only 19 participants, was still a rather exotic undertaking with a daring technological outlook. Virtual reality was still in its infancy at that time, and future predictions were questionable. What makes us very proud today is the fact that digitization technologies have meanwhile reached the emergency forces.” Martin Zimmermann
